Hi ladies! Here we are on the first day of October already! Our local pumpkin patch is opening today. I love when I drive by there in the morning and see the big field of orange. I know my grandchildren are excited to be going to the pumpkin patches by them and I’m excited to see all the pictures my adult children send or post. Every year I plan on going here and getting one to make fresh pumpkin pie, maybe this will be the year it actually happens, ha!
Today I’m styling a Loren Conrad blazer from Kohls with a Liz Claiborne floral top from JC Penny’s.
This exact blazer is no longer available but this one is very similar and it’s on sale for 20% off with code ORCHARD20. It comes in three other colors and sizes XS to XXL.
This Liz Claiborne v-neck top is a nice quality, comes in sizes XS to XXL and is on sale for 30% off with code Fall19 at checkout. It’s a little sheer so I wore my fitted tank under it. With this cooler weather I wear a tank under pretty much all my tops sheer or not just for the warmth.
I chose my INC skinny leg pants from Macy’s which are already sold out but these pull on zip pocket pair are similar in looks and the slip on band is really comfortable. The similar ones come in three other colors and sizes 0 to 18.
I’m getting a lot of wear out of these Life Stride heels from Kohls. I love the style and contrasting trim. It’s hard to believe they can be so stylish while still being so comfortable.
I really like the contrast of a menswear inspired blazer with an airy floral top and dainty shoes. I want to be taken seriously but still keep a feminine aura.
I guess if I want to be taken seriously I best get a move on and get out the door to be on time! Hope you have a wonderful first day of October and maybe pick up a pumpkin or two, be it at a pumpkin patch or even your local supermarket. Thanks for stopping by Sizable Fashion. We’d love for you to leave us a comment or follow us by clicking on the link below.
Good morning, what a weekend!! I had a fun family adventure picking up our new puppy, a chocolate lab whom we’ve named Rocky. And, the weather has turned to freezing temps almost overnight it seems. I am definitely not used to this type of weather this early in September. I told my husband if I must get a whole new wardrobe to help me adjust then I must ha ha!! I do what I’ve got to do:) Is anyone else experiencing cooler than expected temps this time of year??
I pulled out my raincoat yesterday and my cute rain boots as we were braving the weather to go grocery shopping. To my dismay, the internet was not cooperating and my beloved Wal-mart e cart would not load, so trekking through the rain we went. I love having a cute raincoat with a hood. This exact one is sold out but I love these from J Crew. There is a lot of pretty colors, and a cinched waist to keep us from looking frumpy, yes please:) It’s available in sizes xxs through 3x. Made of a fabric that’s machine washable is a plus and J Crew has 30% off right now using code MONDAY.
Having a raincoat that’s long enough to cover your backside so you can wear it with leggings, skinny jeans and your bulkier sweaters is a great option. I also love these raincoats from Macy’s. The first one is from London Fog and the second is Ralph Lauren. The Jackie O vibe they give off is what drew me to them. The cheetah hood on this Via Spiga is a great way to add animal print this season without going overboard. If you’re looking to incorporate this trend then I think this is a great option. Macy’s is giving 15% off right now with code DEALS.
One more raincoat option I wanted to mention is from Amazon. It is the brand Fisoul. It comes in a lot of great color options and isn’t that striped lining so cute. The detachable hood is convenient and also has the cute striping on it. It’s also a very affordable option. All of these raincoats come with many great reviews and were listed in the Today Show’s top ten coats.
Of course, with raincoats comes rain boots and umbrellas so you can have fun playing with your new puppy while starting to potty train. These matte Chelsea rain boots from J Crew are cute and get good reviews for comfort. They also come in a pretty green and are included in the 30% off sale with code MONDAY. I also like these Sam Edelman Tinsley rain boots. They are super cute and have a padded foot bed. In the $50 price range with many color options and free shipping they are a perfect option.
If you’re looking for a taller option like I’m styling here, I really like these UGG Shaye rain boots. They come in four different color options and I love them all.
Last but definitely not least, umbrellas are a must. My daughter and I picked this up at Wal-mart and I’m so glad she insisted we get it. It was during the end of summer and we had some thunderstorms so she was wanting one, but I was thinking on it and so happy with my decision to purchase it. Boy, have I definitely used it a lot now only a few months later.
Shopping online last night I found this totes umbrella with the colored dots that I thought was so cute and perfect to match many outfit choices. It also comes in clear. I love bubble umbrellas to keep my hair looking perfect and they help block the wind in my opinion. If you’re looking for just one of the cutest umbrellas ever then Kate Spade is always a fun option. I also love this one from her.
I hope I’ve given you some inspiration to help you enjoy this rainy weather that is sure to come if it hasn’t hit where you live yet or if you’re like me and it’s already here then you can be confident you look cute while trying to avoid all the puddles. I used to love jumping in puddles as a kid. Oh the memories:)
As always we’d love for you to join us here at Sizable Fashion by entering your email below. Have a blessed day and stay dry!!
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psalm 119:105 KJV
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6 NIV
Recently I moved to the beautiful northern California mountains. While I’m loving the views and the cute deer with their babies that love to wander in and out of my yard, the reception in my neck of the woods is almost non-existent. I have been listening to Air1 since my kids were very little. I was very sad to learn that the station doesn’t come in very well at all with a lot more static than music. To the point that it’s not worth trying to even turn on.
Trying to complete my last two classes online was challenging and took me asking for grace from my professors to let me zip files and turn them in through an unconventional manner. In the scope of life these were only minor little bumps in my road. Because of these challenges, it led me to discover the Focus on the Family station and I have grown to love their daily podcast as much as my beloved Air1. The internet issues also allowed us to meet our local librarian where my daughter is going to start volunteering and be writing her children’s book. So a lot of good is coming out of these trying minor challenges that we may never have discovered had things worked perfectly from the start.
I know that some of you may be facing major challenges today that look to be endless and unbearable, so I just want to encourage you today to stay strong. Whatever God may be taking you through will end and you will be stronger than ever before. Studying God’s word so that I have scriptures on the tip of my tongue to quote when the enemy starts lying to me is essential. I love devotion books like Kay Harms, “A Taste of Satisfaction,” or free bible studies online through http://www.womenlivingwell.org. They help me to sort out what I’m reading in scripture and feel like they give me a place to start with my bible reading.
Having a strong support system through church bible study groups and my mom & sisters whom I can call or text 24/7 just to receive advice and encouragement is also invaluable. Find someone you can confide in that you trust completely and can look to for advice you know will line up with God’s word. Remember when your road gets long and bumpy to praise God along the way for what’s in store. Even when you can’t see the end don’t give up. Stay courageous just like Joshua in Jericho. Keep walking around those walls singing the loudest praises and before you know it those walls will fall and whatever you may be facing will be conquered with the Lord’s help:)
Good morning! I can’t hardly believe this weather! A few nights ago we were eating dinner out on the patio in near perfect temperatures and now we are worried about our sprinkler pipes freezing overnight, whaaaattt? Though I know it’s coming every year, it always feels like it sneaks up on me before I’m mentally prepared.
At least I’ll be staying warm in this autumn graphic tee and cozy warm cardigan and first stop this morning is the local coffee shop for a nice steamy chai latte!
This long sleeved open front cardigan is Worthington brand from JC Penny’s. It’s really soft and though it’s light weight it’s really warm.
I really like the pretty rib knit detail on the front and buttons on the sides which give it a lot of interest without being over the top.
I fell right in love with this graphic tee at Maurices. They are having a BOGO at 50% off sale. It comes in regular and plus sizes and they actually have a lot of graphic tees to choose from. For accessories I added these gold drop stone hoop earrings.
For a change I found these Everflex high rise jeans at Maurices. They fit like a dream and don’t stretch out after wearing them all day. The high rise is also nice to help conceal a muffin top. These only come in dark wash but regular and plus sizes.
Since it’s going to be cold out I chose these LifeStride ankle booties from Kohl’s. I love the adorable tassel accents and they have a cushioned sole so they’re comfortable as well as warm.
Ok, I’m off for Saturday errands and I hear a venti soy chai latte calling my name. I hope you have a great weekend and get to stop in for your favorite hot drink along the way too.
We really appreciate you stopping by today! If you are enjoying what you’re seeing we’d really appreciate you following us by clicking on the link below or sharing us with a friend. And if you have something you’d like to see in the future please leave us a comment.
Ever since I can remember the golf course has been one of my favorite places to go to. As a little girl, my dad would take us to the driving range weekly. Or we would visit the putting greens. It is one of my fondest childhood memories with him. When I was around 12 we moved to Arizona and lived right on the golf course. My sister and I were allowed to drive the golf carts and oh what mischievous fun we had driving them ha ha. We would make food and drink runs for my dad and his friends. While my dad is now in heaven with Jesus, I still love to go golfing with my hubby. He also loves golfing and I once again find myself living in a golf course community.
I loved visiting the golf shops at the club house. I found some of the women’s clothing to not be quite as cute and fashion forward as my tastes preferred. So, I’ve always tried to find cute & comfy clothing that I could move around in but still feel girly and find flattering.
With the weather being unpredictable sometimes, I love that I found a comfortable jacket in one of my favorite colors. It is available in sizes extra small through extra large. The fabric content includes spandex making it comfortable. I also love the vertical seams running down the front from the pockets to the waistband and the fact that it’s not boxy which is a problem with a lot of jean jackets. Red is one of my favorite colors, so at a $30 price point I just couldn’t resist.
The longer length of this v-neck tassel top was the perfect pairing with this jacket. Moving my arms was easy as I couldn’t let my husband beat me:) Of course, no matter how hard I try, he always comes out on the winning side.
I’m pretty good at keeping up with the guys and making it to the green in just a few more swings than them, but my putting needs more practice. I try to bend down and pretend I know how to read the greens as they say. I always usually come up short though. It’s all about having fun and getting some fresh air and exercise to stay healthy. And my husband is a blast to be around. He buys me treats and encourages me and a lot of times teaches me. I love how the buttons on this jacket coordinate perfectly with the buttons on these dark frayed hem skinny jeans. Even if I can’t beat the guys, I’ll sure look cute trying!
The details on this shirt along with the pretty muted floral pattern are what I admired most. Pleating across the shoulders and the stitching detail with tassels and a modest v-neck were my favorite features. I paired it with a red jean jacket but you could easily pair it with a navy, green or black blazer.
I’ve had these golf shoes for a while now but they are excellent quality as all Nike products usually are. I love the neutral tan stripe across the top as well as the coordinating red Nike swoosh:) They are very comfortable and I would highly recommend if you are interested in playing golf that you invest in a pair. I like these and these.
Pearls are just timeless and the length of these filled in the neck line of this top. It’s between 18 to 22 inches in length. The gold matched the buttons of the jacket along with my diamond bracelet. That was an anniversary gift from my husband years ago but I like this bracelet and this one. Pearl stud earrings topped off the look.
Well, we’ve made it to the weekend! Praise the Lord!!! Tomorrow we are headed on a fun family outing. I’m going to try to post to our insta stories. If you’re interested you can check it out and we’d love to have you follow us here at Sizable Fashion. Have a restful and blessed weekend!
Good morning and happy Thursday ladies! My week is flying by again. If time flies when you’re having fun I must be having an awful lot of fun at work, ha! My coworkers really are a joy to be around and I count myself very blessed to have such a great group to work with. Our office dress code is what I would call business casual so this cashmere sweater is a great option for me.
I’ve paired it with a classic white shirt from Old Navy and my Alfani stretch skinny pants from Macy’s. I added simple gold hoops and a pearl necklace along with my gold watch and bow bracelet.
I love the v-neck style and color of this sweater, but it’s also available in a lot of other beautiful colors and comes in sizes XS to XL.
This classic white shirt is from Old Navy and a great price. A white shirt is pretty much a staple in our closets so if you’re looking to fill that void I would recommend this one.
These Alfani stretch skinny pants are so comfortable and are such great quality. Perfect for sitting comfortably at a desk for hours and no worries about gapping in the back. They also come in two other colors and sizes 2 thru 18.
These LifeStride heels from Kohl’s have a 2 1/2″ heel and a padded footbed for all day comfort. I love the D’Orsay styling and contrasting trim. Perfect for the office then out for a nice dinner. A lady always wants to be prepared for dinner out!

Happy Wednesday Everyone! We’re half way through our week and I have fun plans this Saturday with my whole family so I’m trying to be patient. My son is coming with us and I do not get to see him often so I’m beyond thrilled. He is majoring in music education at his university.
Today, we are talking about how to keep our skin looking fresh, polished & glowing. Timewise Microdermabrasion Refine is an exfoliator that helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by removing surface dead skin cells and build-up in our pores. It has the following characteristics:
Suitable for Sensitive Skin
Clinically tested for skin irritancy and allergy
Timewise Pore Minimizer with powerful extracts is very nourishing and helps to calm and comfort skin while tightening the elasticity of skin around your pores. Using it after the refine step will soothe and reduce any redness that comes from exfoliation. It may also be used as part of your daily routine after cleansing before moisturizing. I love how these two products work hand in hand to dramatically improve our skin texture. I have been using these products for 15 years now and just love them. To see how I apply them please watch this short video:)
Do you feel like you struggle with bigger pores? My experience with some of my younger clients in their early twenties born with larger pores on their nose have really benefited from using these products. Please let us know your thoughts in the comments below:)
We’d love to have you or anyone you know join our family here at Sizable Fashion. Please just enter your email below and stay tuned for next week’s part 3 in our skin care series.
Good morning precious ladies! I hope your first week of fall is starting out great! Thank you so much for spending a few minutes here with us. Today I’m talking about yoga clothes that are both cute and functional. Gaiam brand from Kohl’s and they are priced right for us working gals. They have lots of colors and styles to choose from in sizes XS to XXL.
I started working out in my early 20s and have done everything from aerobics, strength training, Zumba, P90X, and even a personal trainer but I always come back to my yoga. It’s so gentle on my aging body yet so effective at keeping me toned and moving freely without aches and pains. Comfortable yoga clothes are essential though and I found these Gaiam yoga leggings, twist front top and bralette at Kohl’s. They are so nice to move in.
They stretch with me and stay put so I’m not constantly tugging on my leggings or having to pull my top back down where it belongs instead of staying focused on my poses.
As we age we tend to lose muscle mass, balance and flexibility. Yoga is so kind to our bodies and still works on all three of these areas. With figure four chair pose for example we work the little connective tissues in our feet which we use for balance. Having had ears problems most of my life I figure I can use all the balance help I can get.
I really like this twist top because it’s long enough that when I raise my arms my tummy area stays covered. And the bralette is staying where it belongs too, not riding up.
I can stay focused on the moves since I’m comfortable and not distracted by my clothing.
Of course my husband is my photographer so I might have been a little distracted (wink)! I’m not usually smiling while doing my moves, mostly just a lot of deep breathing while I “feel the heat build” in my legs or let my “core shake” as my down dog app instructor says. If you’d like to give it a try there’s a free “Down Dog” app available for your phone. I personally only benefit from the yoga moves and I meditate on the word of God each day. I’d highly recommend both! Remember to always check with your doctor before starting any exercise program though and modify any poses that are too difficult ( I certainly do!)
What kind of things do you do to stay active as you age? Have you given yoga a try? Leave me a comment below if you have a minute, I’d really like to hear your experiences. And if you like what you’re seeing here on Sizable Fashion we’d love to have you follow us. Just click on the link below, then you’ll receive our posts in your inbox every morning.
Happy Monday Morning! I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend and are ready to see what this new week holds. I just wanted to share an outfit with you today that I would wear on a lunch date with my hubby, Wednesday night church service or running errands & different activities with the kids.
I have paired this cute plaid and black top with my distressed black skinny jeans with frayed hem. I love the color blocking on this top because it is very flattering to your waistline and has a higher neckline for bending over. The material is a rayon/spandex blend which makes it soft but a little dressier. It comes in sizes xs-xxl and I’m wearing the small for reference. You could choose which skinny pants and how much distressing is your desired amount. I chose light distressing on the knees and frayed hems.
This exact pair is no longer available but I like these and these. The Express jeans are available in sizes 00 to 18 and come in short, average, long and petite. They are also holding a buy 1 get 1 for $19.90. I love a good sale and with cooler weather it’s a great time to check out your closet inventory.
The second option come from GAP. They have no distressing throughout but have the raw/frayed hem. This makes them perfect for the times when distressing is too casual but you’d still like to be on trend. They are available in sizes 24 through 35. They also come in regular, tall & petite. The holds-you-in front pocket panels are a “Yes Please” ha ha. For size reference, I wear a 28 or 29 which is a 6 or 8 in U.S. sizing. My open toed black booties were a perfect choice to bring in the fall weather and to elongate my leg line with keeping the jeans and booties in the same color family. The inseam on my jeans also allows the smallest part of my leg to show.
I love the curved hemline of this top which makes it flattering to your hip line and keeping you covered to wear with your skinny jeans. Since I am 5’9, booties with a lower heel and shaft that are comfortable are my shoes of choice. These black open-toed booties, Koolaburra by Ugg, are super cute and comfortable with that ortholite footbed. But I must say, I also love to rock a heel despite my height:)
The blues in the plaid are very pretty. It’s also a little unexpected because most plaids come in the grays and browns. The color was a major selling point for me as well as being great for my pear shaped silhouette.
I love the dressiness of the top with the contrasting slight distressing of the jeans to give this girl the edge she loves.
If you prefer skinny jeans without the distressing then a raw/frayed hem would give you the same effect:)
I wore my pearl earrings, silver heart necklace and a white leather wrap bracelet to bring out the white in my top. My exact bracelet is sold out but I love this one and this from the Alison + Aubrey collection. They are a sweet Mom & Daughter with their own jewelry collection. They have great quality with very affordable prices I love to play up my eyes so I went with a gray and blue daytime smoky eye and nude lips applying cool girl mattewear lipstick from Sephora and Mary Kay fancy nancy lipgloss.
Nude closed toed booties would also look great with this outfit. These would be a great option when the rain comes and the color helps elongate your legs too. Or if you’re loving the wedge tennis shoe trend, these would also be a good choice. And these wedge booties are super cute too.
I hope this week brings you new fun adventures and not too many challenges. I’m trying to spend a little time each day with my family. I think it’s so easy to get caught up in all that life demands of us. So I encourage you this week to set aside some fun time even if that means reading together before bed or taking time to enjoy that piece of pie after dinner instead of immediately getting up to do the dishes. The dishes will wait but precious family time will not.
We love having you here at Sizable Fashion and if you have any friends you think might like it here please invite them to join us. We’d love to have it feel like a community here. Happy Monday!!
